I am not much of a writer so please do not judge me by my writing skills. I am simply taking time to blog so you can stay informed of what is going on in class and hopefully check out some fun pictures of your children. I hope you find this helpful and if you have any suggestions please feel free to share them with me. I will try to take time each week to update my post but I will not make any promises there.
This coming week we will celebrate Groundhog day and our 100th day of school. We will not have a 100th day celebration we will just celebrate all week. Thank you to all who have donated items for the Infant Crisis Center. I think we have 70 items and we were going for 100. We talked in class the other day about, what if we do not get 100 items. I asked the students if that would be bad? Of course they thought it was bad if we did not get 100 things. That led to a great conversation about giving. That even if we collected just a few items we would be making a difference for some babies that needed things. I assured them that we were just trying to collect 100 items so we could count 100 things. I told them the Infant Crisis Center would be thankful for just 1 item if that is all we had. They quickly got excited about the 70 items we would be able to donate. We will be collecting items through this coming week.
I want to assure you that I have no idea who has brought items and who has not. As a parent myself I know first hand that you are always being asked to give. Buy things for fund raisers, buy items for the class, give of your time etc. I know it is always something. So, please know that I never want you to feel obligated because I really do not keep up with any of it!
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Just taking a few minutes to stay updated on your child's class is making a difference in their education. Please pass the word on to other parents in the class about the blog. Enjoy your time at home snowed in!
